Theognosticism
Abstract
This paper introduces Theognosticism, a philosophical framework that shifts the traditional debate about God from the question of existence to the limits of human knowledge. While theism, atheism, and agnosticism argue about whether a divine being exists, Theognosticism asks whether the human mind is even capable of understanding such a being. By examining the epistemic boundaries created by our existence within space, time, and matter, the paper argues that a fundamental “Hard Border” separates human cognition from any possible transcendent creator. As a result, although a first cause for the universe may be conceivable, any detailed claims about the nature, intentions, or personality of God are revealed to be speculative projections of human thought rather than verifiable knowledge.
